                                     MY NEW/OLD BREAKFAST NOOK

My new/old breakfast nook in progress started around this beautiful antique/unique table. I wanted to use it  as a breakfast table although it can be used anywhere when the sides roll under the table making it 1/2 the size ! I had two extra chairs from the dining room so i gave them "The Slip" to make them look a little different. (not sure if I will monogram or stamp them with a french design?????? Needed more seating so borrowed the settee from the hall and started on giving the wall a little eclectic personality. Looking for some curtains that will keep it light and airy being such a small space. Will keep posting as changes are made....any ideas?????

GARAGE AND FALL DECOR???

OK, the kids are back in school leaving me with a little tooooooo much time on my hands. I thought I would be ambitious today and clean out the garage (a project that has been on my to do list for quite a while) it was a good thought! After clearing a path through the toys and tools I spotted the FALL DECOR boxes !!! You know...maybe tomorrow will be a better day for the garage.
I know it is a little soon to be thinking about fall but every store I go in has it everywhere! WHY CAN'T I ?
For now I will reminisce and post some photos of last year but the countdowns on!

A+ Ideas

Looking for some A+ ideas for your back to school party? Try these easy to make ,easy on the budget projects by recycling things you have around your home.

Empty Can
Pencils
Rubber Bands
Flowers
Faux Apples
Picture frame
chalkboard paint
Red spray paint

Put 2 wide rubber bands around an empty soup can and slide pencils through. It will take about 34 pencils to cover the can.(do not glue the pencils so they can be reused)

Add Flowers and faux apples

Take an old picture frame ,remove picture and glass but keep the cardboard backing. Spray the cardboard with chalkboard paint and the frame in the color of your choice.

After drying reassemble the picture frame an add embellishments like a ruler, flash card, chalk ,and write a message on your board.
A great way to welcome your teachers or class back to school that takes very little time or money to make!

BACK TO BACKPACKS

Yes, It's that time of year again....BACK TO SCHOOL ! Let's see....
new clothes...CHECK
new shoes...CHECK
supplies...CHECK
backpack...CHECK
My budget just went from this $$$$$
to this $
and $ don't buy that Pottery Barn Entryway System I've had my eye on.

so......what's a girl to do?

WAIT......IDEA!

We were given an old pine bookcase that has been taking up space in one of the kids rooms. After hauling it downstairs (with hubby's help) and removing the shelves, I was off to Target with my IDEA and $.

Four seagrass baskets and four double hooks later, I was on my way to having an entryway system of my own:)

And here we are..........................
59 Bucks compared to 599.00 and just in time for school!
Should I paint it or leave it natural?
